AI CodeOps

Usage and spend

See what AI CodeOps spends: cost per session and per agent step, cost by agent across sessions, the Usage page's allowance, daily cost and call history.

AI CodeOps prices every model call a session makes and adds it up per agent step and per session. This page shows where to read those numbers. To cap spend, see Cost controls.

What is counted

Every model call in a session is recorded with its model, input and output tokens and cost in US dollars:

  • each agent step, such as plan, build, review and test;
  • writing the code change;
  • the AI review of the diff that records findings;
  • calls that failed partway, because the provider charges for the tokens they used.

Questions to the in-console Help assistant are recorded as usage too.

Costs are recorded whether the session runs on the platform's models, on credits or on your own provider key. Each call's cost is its tokens times the model's per-token price. With your own key, your provider bills you, and the cost shown is an estimate of that bill.

Cost per session and per agent

Develop → AI Sessions lists your 20 most recent sessions with their project, duration, Cost and start time.

Open a session to see:

  • its total Cost, next to Agent steps and Findings;
  • a table of agent steps with Agent, Runtime, Status, Duration, Cost and Tokens.

The step costs don't add up to the total: the total also includes writing the change and reviewing its diff.

Cost by agent

Operate → Monitoring shows Total cost (all time) and Tokens (all time) for the workspace, and an Agent Cost Breakdown table: for each agent, the number of Sessions, the Total cost, the Avg cost per session and the tokens it used. Use it to see which agents cost the most across all your sessions.

The Usage page

Open Measure → Usage. It has up to three parts.

AI allowance this month

A bar per tier of the platform's models (Economy, Standard and Premium) shows how much of your monthly token allowance is used. It turns amber from 80% and red when a tier is used up. See Models and tiers for how allowances work.

Cost

A chart of daily spend for one month, by model.

  • Use the arrows to move between months.
  • Filter by model (All Models) or by API key (All Keys).
  • Days are shown in your browser's time zone.

The Cost chart shows everyone's usage. It appears for roles that can read all usage: owners, admins, DevOps admins and billing admins.

Usage History

Each model call, newest first, with its Date, Model, Input and Output tokens, Cost and Session. Open the input or output count to see the breakdown: cache reads, cache writes and reasoning tokens where the model reports them.

Roles that can read all usage see every call. Other roles see only calls made with their own API keys, so session usage isn't listed for them; they can read session costs on the session pages instead.

Spend limits

Tracking and limits work together. The limits that stop spend are:

LimitWhereWhat it stops
Workspace cost budgetConfigure → Billing → Cost budgetNew and running sessions at the hard limit
Per-workflow capsCost budget → Edit limitsSessions of that workflow
Monthly allowanceYour plan, per tierPlatform-model calls on that tier
Monthly LimitConfigure → Billing, with billing set upSpending of credits

All of them are explained in Cost controls. There are no per-agent budgets; use the step costs above to see where the money went.

Frequently asked questions

Why don't the agent steps add up to the session's cost?

The session total also includes work outside the agent steps, such as writing the code change and the review of its diff.

Can I export usage as CSV?

Not yet. The Usage page and the session pages are the way to read usage during the open beta.

Does the Help assistant use my allowance?

Yes, when it runs on the platform's models. Its answers are recorded as usage like a session's model calls.
